I originally began to learn how to program from a book I picked up on a whim. I worked my way methodically through the book on BASIC, until I managed to work out my first program that simulated a single inning of a baseball game.

I was still in the first grade, and have been at it ever since.

I spent much of my childhood working with computers, playing and learning. Programming was always in the back of my mind, and in High School I began teaching myself Visual Basic. I picked up HTML as a side hobby, and began designing and building webpages for friends and family.

My break came in the form of a Data Entry job for a local company, who was working on an E-Commerce website. I learned of the power of Active Server Pages and Microsoft SQL Server, and was hooked, soaking in all I could. My project changed gears when my company purchased a local web design firm specializing in ASP driven dynamic websites, and I moved there.

I worked with ASP and SQL for over a year and a half, letting my knowledge grow exponentially, until sales dropped and layoffs came. I joined How It Works in the beginning of 2002, bringing my considerable knowledge of ASP and javascript to the table to create a more powerful, versatile team.
